Ventura County Court System Resumes Hearing Small Claims Cases

The latest phase of reopenings for a South Coast court system includes the resumption of small claims trials.

Small claims cases had been suspended by the Ventura County court system as a result of the coronavirus crisis.  Those cases are now being heard at the county’s East County Courthouse in Simi Valley.

People can also use the online CourtCall system to take part in their small claims trials by phone.  They can also use the system to request a continuance or dismissal.

But, the clerk’s office at the East Valley Courthouse remains closed.  People filing documents for small claims cases must do it at the Hall of Justice in Ventura.
