A Ventura County congresswoman is leading a bipartisan charge to try to get the VA to end a ban on what are considered to be medically necessary treatments for transgender veterans.
Democratic Congresswoman Julia Brownley of Westlake Village says 83 members of Congress are a part of the effort. Brownley says the ban on certain procedures conflicts with the scientific consensus.
She says there are more than 160,000 transgender service members, and that it’s wrong to deny them the medical treatments they deserve.
