A Ventura County congresswoman has introduced a bill intended to reduce harassment and sexual assaults at VA facilities. The bill requires mandatory annual training for employees, as well as formal policies to protect veterans, visitors, and people who work at VA facilities. It would set up a process for victims to report incidents, and for employees to provide information on things they might witness.
It also calls for the federal agency to provide Congress with an annual report on harassment, and sexual assaults at VA facilities.
The legislation was introduced by Democratic Congresswoman Julia Brownley of Westlake Village, who has been involved in numerous legislative efforts to help veterans.
