South Coast Congresswoman Introduces Bill To Help Some Financially Troubled Veterans

A Ventura County congresswoman has introduced a bill intended to help veterans impacted by financial abuse. The legislation proposed by Democratic Congresswoman Julia Brownley of Westlake Village would help veterans under the care of fiduciaries who are financially abused by them.

Fiduciaries are often appointed for sick, injured, or older veterans who are no longer able to manage their own finances. The proposed legislation would close a loophole which currently means that some veterans who are victimized don’t receive help from the VA.
