Ventura County Beefs Up Efforts To Prevent Coronavirus Outbreaks At Homeless Shelters

Ventura County is beefing up efforts to try to prevent coronavirus outbreaks in homeless shelters.

A new county health order requires screenings for all people entering shelters.  And, those staying at shelters now have to go through daily evaluations for COVID-19.

If someone has symptoms, they have to immediate self-isolate, and the shelter operator has to notify the county health department.

Santa Barbara County Public Health officials had already issued a similar order to try to prevent coronavirus outbreaks at facilities providing shelter for the homeless.
