The U.S. Secretary of the Interior is going to get a closeup look this week at efforts to restore the natural habitat of the Channel Islands, and to help the endangered Island Fox.
Sally Jewell and Democratic Congresswoman Lois Capps of Santa Barbara will tour parts of the park by boat on Friday.
Some 90 fourth grade students from Ventura County will go along on the trip. Jewell is highlighting the White House’s new “Every Kid in a Park” program. It allows every fourth grader in the country to get a pass to allow them and their families to visit for free more than 2,000 federal parks, and properties nationwide.
