Trio Of Storms Potentially Moving Through Central, South Coasts This Week

A string of storms is moving through the Central and South Coasts this week, raising concern in brush fire burn areas. The first storm is expected to drop a half inch to inch and a half Monday, with up to two and a half inches in some mountain areas. The heaviest rainfall is expected south of Point Conception.

At this point, there are no warnings or watches for brush fire burn areas.

On Tuesday, another wave of storm activity will move through the region. Meteorologists are uncertain about potential rainfall amounts, and the exact timing.

The system forecasters are concerned about the most is one arriving Wednesday night into Thursday. They say we could see two to four inches of rain in some areas, but admit at this time there are still a lot of unanswered questions about the computer models for the storm. Public safety officials say people in and near brush fire burn areas need to keep up on forecasts because of the potential for debris flows.
