Storm Could Bring Heaviest Rainfall Of Year To Central And South Coasts, But No Flooding Predicted

A storm system has made its first splash on parts of the Central and South Coasts, but it’s not going to be as powerful as originally predicted. There were some scattered showers Monday, but the heaviest rainfall is expected Tuesday afternoon and evening.

We could get one to two inches of rain between now, and Wednesday morning, with the heaviest rainfall south of Point Conception.

Meteorologists had at one point predicted heavier rainfall for us, with subtropical moisture feeding an atmospheric river.  It now appears the jet stream is shifting the heaviest rainfall south into Mexico.

There are no watches or warnings for the region’s brush fire burn zones.
