A spy satellite has launched into orbit from the Central Coast after being delayed multiple times.
A United Launch Alliance Delta 4 Heavy rocket carrying a satellite for the National Reconnaissance Office lifted off from Vandenberg Air Force Base at 11:10 am Saturday.
ULA officials say the mission is in support of national defense.
The Delta 4 launch was postponed several times since late last year because of weather and technical issues, including high winds and a hydrogen leak.
