Number of Coronavirus Cases On Central, South Coasts Approaching 250

The number of coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts continues to grow, with the total approaching the 250 mark. Health officials on the Central and South Coasts have been cautioning for weeks that the number of cases would continue to grow before we finally see relief. Those numbers are still increasing.

There are now 248 cases in the region as of Monday morning.

Ventura County now has 109 cases. There’s also been a fourth death in the county:  an unnamed victim in their 80’s. 26 people are in hospitals with the virus.

San Luis Obispo County has 71 cases, and Santa Barbara County 68. In Santa Barbara County, two Sheriff’s deputies are among those who have tested positive for the virus. The first deputy was a patrol officer in Northern Santa Barbara County, and the second had ridden in the same patrol car. Authorities tracked the movements of the officers, and determined that no one else was at risk.
