A new report by Cal Lutheran and UCLA researchers shows that the Latino segment of America’s economy is booming. Their study shows that the total economic output of Latinos in the U.S. was $2.3 trillion dollars in 2017. If it were an independent country, it would be the world’s eighth largest economy, topping Canada and Russia.
The number of Latino owned business has increased by nearly 50% in recent years. And, the study shows that the country’s Latino population has the high percentage of participation in the work force of any group, with more than 67% working or actively seeing work.
The study was jointly conducted by researchers with Cal Lutheran’s Center for Economic Research, and UCLA’s Geffen School of Medicine.
