The number of new COVID-19 cases count continues to skew low, but the death toll continues to rise.  12 additional death were reported Friday, with 10 in Ventura County and two in Santa Barbara County.

375 new cases were reported Friday.  Ventura County had 240, Santa Barbara County 104, and San Luis Obispo County 31.  We’ve now had nearly 128,800 cases in the region since the start of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Santa Barbara County has announced plan to beef up its COVID testing efforts in the southern part of the county.  It’s mobile testing van will be stationed in the parking lot of Procore, on the 6200 block of Carpinteria Avenue.

County Public Health officials say it will be open for business from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday starting next week.  The testing is by appointment through the county’s website.
