Man Charged With Attacks Which Left One Dead, One Injured At Ventura County Homeless Camp

Detectives are still trying to sort out what led to a man being stabbed to death, and a woman injured in Ventura County.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon, at a homeless camp near some railroad tracks off of First Street in Simi Valley.  A woman went for help after being stabbed.  Police arriving on the scene found the body of Eric Tenorio.  The 26-year -old man had been fatally stabbed.

They found Julio Martinez Diaz hiding in some nearby bushes.  He also had some stab wounds, but wasn’t seriously injured.

Diaz has been charged with murder.  Investigators think both men were transients who had been involved in a confrontation which escalated into the stabbings.
