Authorities are trying to determine the cause of death of a Ventura County jail inmate. Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies say they discovered Lance Hays unresponsive in his cell at the Todd Road jail facility Thanksgiving night.
Deputies started first aid, and called jail medical staff members who continued the effort.
But, the Camarillo man was pronounced dead a short time later.
