Heat Wave Continues Tuesday On Central, South Coasts Then Cooling Expected

A heat wave that's expected to bring temperatures near the 100 degree mark to the Central and South Coasts is expected to peak Tuesday.

Highs could be slightly warmer Tuesday than on Monday.

Highways will range from the upper 70's on the coast, to around 100 in some inland areas.

Santa Barbara is expected to reach 80, Simi Valley 99, and Santa Maria 82.  The high pressure ridge responsible for the heat is expected to break down as we move through the week, with highs inland dropping by 20 to 25 degreees by the time we reach the weekend.
