The governor has taken new action in response to crowding on some of the state’s beaches. But, the Central and South Coasts aren’t affected by the changes.
Governor Gavin Newsom says as efforts continue to contain coronavirus through social distancing, major issues continued last week at some of the state’s beaches. It prompted him to move Thursday to close Orange County’s beaches.
There were reports Wednesday night that the Governor might choose to close all still-open state beaches, but he opted against it.
Ventura County’s beaches are open for walking, running, swimming and surfing, but not for sitting or sunbathing. Santa Barbara County’s beaches are open but people must social distance.
