Final results from a November South Coast city council election are in, with one of the seats being decided by a handful of votes. Alejandra Gutierrez was elected to the Santa Barbara City Council, representing District 1. The final numbers show that she squeaked by incumbent Jason Dominguez by eight votes.
The seat represents Santa Barbara’s Eastside. About 2000 total votes were cast in the race.
Meanwhile, Michael Jordan beat out four other candidates to win the City Council’s District 2 seat. Jordan replaces longtime council member Randy Rowse, who couldn’t seek re-election due to term limits.
