Coronavirus Related Death Toll On Central, South Coasts Hits 120; Number Of Cases Nears 15,000

The coronavirus related death toll continues to mount on the Central and South Coasts, with three additional deaths reported.  We’ve had 120 overall in the region. 

San Luis Obispo County had two more deaths, bringing its total to 14.  Both were older adults with preexisting health conditions living in care facilities.  Ventura County has had one more, for an overall total of 73 deaths. Santa Barbara County is at 32 deaths. 

There have been just under 15,000 diagnosed cases in the three county region since the start of the crisis, with 119 reported yesterday.  It’s one of the lowest single day totals in the last two weeks.

Ventura County has had a total of 7103 cases, Santa Barbara County 6094, and San Luis Obispo County 1740.  Most of those diagnosed with the virus locally have already recovered.
