17 Additional COVID-19 Deaths Reported On Central, South Coasts; Total Now At 560

The death toll continues to mount on the Central and South Coasts from COVID-19.  17 additional coronavirus related deaths have been reported in the region.

Ventura County reported eight more deaths, Santa Barbara County seven, and San Luis Obispo County two Tuesday.  The death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 560.

More than 1800 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the region.  Ventura County is reporting 894 additional people tested positive for the virus.  San Luis Obispo County is reporting 611.  However, county health officials say part of that number may be due to a backlog in state testing results being released.  And, Santa Barbara County had 341 new cases.

The 11-county Southern California region set up by the state for purposes of COVID-19 monitoring continues to remain at 0% hospital intensive care unit capacity.  Ventura County is reporting that its ICU capacity is at 0%, and Santa Barbara County is down to less than a percent.
