ACCIDENTSIGN.JPEG

Investigators are trying to sort out what led to a collision involving two vehicles heading the same direction on a Ventura County road which left one man dead and a second seriously injured.

Oxnard Police say a car and an SUV were both headed west on Bard Road near Justin Drive when they collided.

The vehicles crossed over into the opposite side of the road, and smashed into a tree.  Both vehicles then caught on fire.

The driver of the car died at the scene.  The SUV’s driver was seriously injured.

Investigators think the vehicles were speeding.  It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in yesterday afternoon’s collision.  The names of those involved haven’t been released.
