The Camino Real Cinemas in Goleta are set to reopen later this month

One of the biggest movie theater operators on the Central and South Coasts has announced the first phase of its COVID-19 related reopening plans.

Metropolitan Theaters owns most of the movie theaters in southern Santa Barbara County.

The chain will reopen its Camino Real Cinemas in Goleta March 26th, and its Fiesta Five Theaters in Downtown Santa Barbara March 31st.

Metropolitan’s theaters will operate with a number of COVID-19 safety protocols.  They include reduced capacity with social distanced reserved seating, as well as steps to disinfect the theaters between showings.  Theatergoers will be required to wear face masks at all times, except while eating and drinking.
