Woman Shot To Death On Central Coast; Husband Arrested

A Santa Barbara County man has been arrested for the fatal shooting of his wife.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Tanglewood neighborhood west of Santa Maria Sunday night by reports of a domestic dispute.  Officers say when they arrived at the scene, they found Eladio Herrera sitting in a car outside of the home.

They say the 63-year-old man told them he had shot his wife.  Deputies went into the home, and found Dolores Reyes with multiple gunshot wounds.  Efforts to save the 38-year-old woman were unsuccessful.

A chaplain and a social service worker were called to the scene to help family members of the victim who were at the home when the shooting occurred.
