State, Local Agencies Crack Down On Auto Thefts In Ventura County; 19 People Arrested

Agencies involved with the Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force arrested 19 people in a countywide sweep Thursday.

A task force targeting auto thieves in Ventura County conducted a major sweep this week, arresting 19 people.

What was called "Operation Clean Sweep" served arrest warrants throughout the county.  It was coordinated by the Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force, which includes more than a half dozen agencies ranging from the CHP to the Ventura County Sheriff's office.

Most of the arrests were for property related crimes.
