Air Force Successfully Test Launches Intercontinental Ballistic Missile From Central Coast

The Air Force test launched an unarmed Minuteman III missile from Vandenberg Air Force Base Tuesday night.

An intercontinental ballistic missile was successfully test launched from the Central Coast Tuesday night. 

The unarmed Minuteman III missile took off from Vandenberg Air Force Base at 11:49 p.m.  

It's the latest in an ongoing series of launches intended to test equipment and crew readiness.  The launch was visible throughout much of the Central and South Coasts.
