Work has officially kicked off on a nearly $60 million dollar expansion project at a Central Coast high school.  Santa Maria High School is adding a three story, 88,000 square foot building.  It will have 50 classrooms, a new administration area, and a bell tower.

The project will allow the high school to eliminate most of the portable classrooms it’s been using in recent years to house students.

Plans call for the building to be completed in the Spring of 2023.  The project is funded by Measure H, a bond measure passed by Santa Maria Joint Union High School District voters in 2016.
