Police Say Armed Man Arrested After Standoff In RV On South Coast

A man police say was armed with an ax was arrested following a tense standoff on the South Coast.

A man called Oxnard Police Sunday afternoon saying when he went into his parked RV, he discovered someone with a knife inside.  Arriving officers say they saw a man armed with an ax outside of the vehicle.  The man quickly went back inside.

The SWAT team was called, as were a crisis team.  After about two hours of unsuccessful efforts to get the man to come out, they used tear gas.

Cervando Fernandez Galindo left the RV, and was arrested on burglary, brandishing a deadly weapon, and resisting arrest charges.
