Bridge Replacement Project To Disrupt Traffic In Central Coast Community Into 2022

It’s a big construction project for a little Central Coast community.  A project to replace some aging highway bridges will disrupt traffic flow in Los Alamos for more than a year.

Caltrans officials say work will start at the end of the month to replace Highway 101-Highway 135 interchange bridges.  Work will include full closure of Highway 135 at times for bridge demolition, and the start of reconstruction.

During the full closure periods, a shuttle service will be available to pedestrians, those in wheelchairs, and bicyclists.  Motorists will be rerouted to the Highway 101-Cat Canyon Road offramps to reach Los Alamos.

The $10-million-dollar project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2022.
