One person is dead, and a second seriously injured following a shooting in Santa Barbara County.
Two people with gunshot wounds were found in a parked car on a residential street near Hollister Elementary School in Goleta just after noon Thursday. One of them was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was taken to a hospital.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies launched a search. Nearby residents were ordered to stay in their homes, but that order was lifted at about 3 p.m. after officers concluded the gunman had already left the area.
