The coronavirus crisis isn’t stopping “Black Friday” sales on the Central and South Coasts this week.   But, some animal shelters in the region are adding their own special twist to the shopping tradition this year.

On Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday Santa Barbara County shelters are doing a Black Friday event.  All animals six months or older which have black coloring on them of some type will have adoption fees wavied.

The participating organizations include Santa Barbara County Animal Services, the Santa Barbara and Santa Maria Valley Humane Society, the Animal Shelter Assistance Program, and the group Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter.

Because of COVID-19, people need to view potential pets online, and then schedule a visit to the shelter.  The adoptable animals have been spayed or neutered, and have necessary vaccinations.
