Man Arrested After Pair Of Car Chases In Ventura County

Detectives say a man who led police on two car chases in Ventura County might have thought he got away from being caught, but he was finally identified and arrested.

Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies tried to stop a car for a traffic violation in Camarillo early Thursday morning.  The vehicle didn’t stop, and there was a high speed chase, hitting 120 miles an hour. Officers finally discontinued the chase out of concern the fleeing car might hit another vehicle.

A short time later, other deputies spotted the car in Thousand Oaks, leading to a second chase.  Once again, deputies broke it off out of concern the fleeing car might hit another vehicle.

Several hours later, the car was found parked in Simi Valley.  Detective says they identified Noe Marquez of Simi Valley as the driver.  They say after gathering additional evidence, they arrested the 22-year-old man for probation violation, and reckless evading charges.
