State officials revoke the liquor license for a South Coast bar

A South Coast bar has been lost its liquor license, after state officials say it was cited for more than 50 alcohol related violations following a series of undercover investigations.

The State Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control revoked the license for Mona Lisa, in Oxnard.  ABC officials say investigators visited the Oxnard Boulevard business multiple times, and documented illegal alcohol sales as well as drug sales.

They say that the business operated a scheme in which servers would charge more for drinks in exchange for keeping patrons company.

Mona Lisa had a license for beer and wine sales. State ABC officials say the businesses doesn’t have to close, but it can no longer sell alcoholic beverages under the current ownership.
