The November ballot is a crowded one, with the presidential election, congressional seats, state races and ballot propositions. But, there are also a number of local measures on Central and South Coast ballots.
They include things ranging from school funding proposals to local marijuana sales tax plans.
Ojai and Ventura voters will look at special taxes for retail marijuana businesses. And, Ventura County voters are being asked about allowing and taxing marijuana growing.
The Ventura Unified School District is seeking a four-year renewal of its existing annual parcel tax to pay for school facilities, and staff.
In Santa Barbara County, the Cold Spring School District has a proposed $7.8-million-dollar bond measure on the ballot, for facilities repairs and improvements. The Goleta Union School District has an $80-million-dollar bond measure on the ballot also for facilities improvements.
And, the City of Oxnard has five separate measures on the ballot, including a proposed 1.5% sales tax increase for public safety and social services, and a controversial proposal to establish procedures for local government meetings.
