Santa Barbara County Version Of Global "Thriller" Dance Event Goes Online For 2020

A decade old global Halloween-themed dance event is going to continue this year, but because of coronavirus concerns, the South Coast version is moving to the virtual world.  It’s called the biggest dance event in the world.  At 3 p.m. Saturday, people across the globe will dance to Michael Jackson’s song “Thriller."  In Santa Barbara County, the group “World Dance for Humanity” will take its annual event at the County Courthouse online, because of COVID-19 safety concerns.

Janet Reinck, with the World Dance organization, says you get a free “Thriller” dance lesson as a warmup at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Then, at 3, you can put on a costume, and join the global zoom event from your home.  It’s all free, but you can also donate to World Dance projects to help people in developing countries.

There also an online Halloween dance part planned for October 31st.

You can find links to the events at:  worlddanceforhumanity.org/thrills-chills-halloween-event-2020/
