South Coast College Adding Certificated Cybersecurity Program

A South Coast college is going to offer a new program which could help fill a gap in the technology field, and launch students into well paid careers.  Oxnard College is set to launch a certified cybersecurity program in the Spring, 2021 semester.

College officials say there is a big shortage of cybersecurity analysts.  They say the one year program will train students for high paying jobs which are available now.

The average salary in the field is nearly $100,000 a year.

The curriculum was developed with the help of an advisory council of cybersecurity professionals.   Those involved with the program say there is a critical need for organizations and businesses to get help protecting their infrastructure and digital assets.
