A man driving a stolen car was arrested following a wild car chase on the Central Coast which hit speeds of more than 100 miles an hour.  Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies spotted a car which had been reported stolen on Highway 1 near Casmalia Road Thursday afternoon.

The driver refused to stop.  After a several mile chase, the car veered off the highway into the landscaping in front of the Vandenberg Air Force Base Visitor’s Center.

Deputies say they arrested Maurice Pilgrim as he tried to flee on foot.  Police say they are trying to determine if the 19 year old Michigan man might be responsible for additional crimes in Lompoc and Guadalupe.
