Central, South Coast Foodbank Hosting Online Nutrition Event; How Crucifers Can Improve Your Health

They’re known as cruciferous vegetables. They can help our bodies deal with everything from backaches to chronic disease. Foodbank of Santa Barbara County Registered Dietetic Technician Taylor Brower is doing a free, community seminar about the health value of this type of food.

Brower says crucifers are derivatives of mustard plants which include cauliflower, cabbage, greens, and other vegetables. She says they can reduce inflammation in the body, support detoxification and DNA repair, plus help prevent chronic disease.

Brower will talk about crucifers, and easy ways to incorporate them into your diet in a free online seminar. It will take place on Wednesday, October 21st. You can find a link to the event on the Foodbank’s website: foodbanksbc.org
