Broken Water Line Forcing Some Ventura County Residents To Boil Water

A broken water line prompted officials to warm people in northeastern part of Ventura that they need to temporarily use bottled water, or boil their water for drinking and cooking purposes.

A main water line ruptured in the Wells Road area of Saticoy Wednesday morning.

The rupture initially shut down the area's water supply.  Crews worked to restore service, but there is concern about potential contamination for the next 48 to 72 hours.

The impacted area is south of Highway 126, west of Campanula Avenue, east of Wells Road and north of the Santa Clara River.  Again, people in the impacted area should either boil water for drinking and cooking, or use bottle water until officials say it's okay to once again used tap water.
