Coronavirus Safety Issues Mean No Public 9/11 Ceremonies On Central, South Coasts

Friday marks the 19th anniversary of the deadly 9/11 attacks on America.

But, because of coronavirus safety concerns, commemorative events are taking a much different form on the Central and South Coasts.  People are being asked not to go to fire stations for ceremonies.

In Ventura County, an event is being streamed by the county fire department.  In Santa Barbara County, a television station will be broadcasting a brief ceremony being conducted by public safety agencies.

Because of the coronavirus safety issues, no public memorial events are planned for the region Friday.
