Some police officers on the South Coast had a close call while responding to an emergency, when two of their patrol units collided with each other.
It happened at about 1:30 Sunday morning. The two units were on West Channel Islands Boulevard when the first one stopped quickly for a pedestrian in the street. The second unit hit the first one. Fortunately, both officers were uninjured, as was the pedestrian.
