Some of the more than 3,100 pounds of methamphetamine seized on the Santa Barbara County coast Wednesday

It's being called the largest drug bust in Santa Barbara County history.  Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies and detectives say they seized more than 3100 pounds of methamphetamine from smugglers who were bringing it onshore from a boat.

It happened early Wednesday morning, on the Gaviota coastline near Arroyo Quemada Beach.  Federal authorities tracked the boat as it was coming in from Mexico.

Officers intercepted the 40 foot boat, arresting 30 adults in the process.  There were also three children taken into custody, who were released to relatives.  Half of those arrested are from Santa Barbara County.
