Firefighters Say Beach Parking An Issue In South Coast Community; Parking Now Being Limited

(Montecito Fire Department)
The Montecito Fire Department says people going to the beach are creating parking issues on some streets. The stiuation has prompted new parking restrictions.

It’s been a controversial issue in one coastal community.  Parking has been an issue for beachgoers and residents in parts of Montecito.

Now, there’s a new wrinkle to the situation.  The Montecito Fire Department says increased traffic and parking on Miramar Avenue, and Humphrey’s Road has impacted their emergency access to the area.

Santa Barbara County is putting up temporary no parking signs on the north side of both of the streets.  Parking will be restricted on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office will be enforcing the no parking restrictions with tickets.
