Lightning strikes are being blamed for starting small brush fires and power outages in northern Santa Barbara County.

Strikes triggered small blazes in the Santa Ynez Valley, and near Los Alamos Saturday morning which were quickly knocked down.

A larger fire in the Hollister Reach area burned about 25 acres of land, but firefighters got the upper hand on that fire in about two hours.

No homes have been damaged.  Some power outages related to the lighting strikes have also been reported on the Central Coast.
