Three Fatally Injured After Being Swept Into Ocean By Rogue Wave In Ventura County

Ventura County firefighters use a hook and ladder truck to lift some injured people off a beach.

Authorities say three people swept off some rocks into the ocean near the Ventura-Los Angeles County line have died.

Ventura County firefighters were called to the area off of the Pacific Coast Highway at Deer Creek Road at around 4:30 Thursday afternoon by reports that some people were knocked into the ocean by a rogue wave. 

Three people were pulled from the water, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The names of the victims haven’t been released yet.
