Man Killed During Rampage Which Also Left Four Officers On Central Coast Wounded Identified

Johnny Watson has been identified as the man shot to death Wednesday as part of a shooting rampage in San Luis Obispo County

Authorities are now identifying a man they say was shot to death by the same person who wounded four law enforcement officers on the Central Coast.

Johnny Watson’s body was found Wednesday morning by the Paso Robles train station.  The 58-year-old man had been shot to death.

Investigators say he was killed by Mason James Lira.  They say Lira was responsible for a Wednesday morning shooting spree in Paso Robles which left a San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputy seriously wounded.

Following a massive manhunt in the Paso Robles area, the 26-year-old transient was found in a riverbed yesterday.  He wounded three more law enforcement officers before he was shot to death.  All of the wounded officers are expected to recover.
