Sheriff's Deputy Seriously Wounded On Central Coast; Authorities Say Man Involved In Incident Dead

Authorities are trying to unravel details of an attack on the Central Coast which left a sheriff’s deputy seriously wounded, and a man dead.

It started at about 3:15 Wednesday morning, when someone fired shots at the Paso Robles Police Department building.  A short time later, a San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputy was reported to be seriously wounded.  Authorities aren’t saying whether that happened at the police station, or elsewhere.

Then, at about 7 a.m. a body was found near the Paso Robles train station, at 8th and Pine Streets.  The man had a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators think he was connected to the incidents early in the morning.  There’s no word yet from authorities on what may have led to the attacks.
