Firefighters Mop Up 150 Acre Plus Brush Fire In Santa Barbara County

Firefighters have successfully corralled a brush fire which burned more than 150 acres of land on Santa Barbara County's Gaviota coastline.

The blaze was discovered just after 2 a.m. Thursday, on Hollister Ranch.

Wind quickly blew what was initially a roughly 20 acre blaze out of control.  Santa Barbara County firefighters cautioned some people in the sparsley populated area they might need to evacuate.

But, after daybreak Thursday firefighters were able to get the upper hand on the fire, and they moved into a mop phase by Thursday night.  No structures have bbeen reported damaged.  There's no word yet on the cause of the fire.
