Coronavirus Concerns Prompt Cancellation Of Summer Air Show On South Coast

The coronavirus crisis has led to the cancellation of one of the largest annual airshows on the Central and South Coasts. Wings Over Camarillo was set for this coming August. The show’s organizers say because of the extensive effort involved to get ready for the show, it would be unfair to participants to wait until the last minute to make a decision.

The show was set to celebrate its 40th anniversary this year.

It’s mix of aerial demonstrations and ground displays attracts tens of thousands of people annually.

The non-profit Camarillo Wings Association hosts the event. It’s donated more than $400,000 in profits over the years to local community groups. Plans call for the airshow to return in August of 2021.
