Authorities Say Man, Woman Die From Drug Overdoses In Ventura County, Leaving Behind Newborn Child

Authorities say a man and woman who died over the weekend in Ventura County from drug overdoses left behind a newborn child. Thousand Oaks Police were called to a home on the 800 block of Avenida De Las Flores Saturday by reports of possible drug overdoses. They found the body of 53 year of David Russell. Ashley Partain was unconscious, and died Sunday at a hospital.

Detectives with Ventura County’s Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit say both died from drug overdoses, but they aren’t saying what type of drugs were involved. A 20-day-old baby was found in their home. The baby was taken to a hospital for medical treatment, and then placed in foster care.
