Former School District Employee In Ventura County Arrested For String Of School Burglaries

A man who once worked for a South Coast school district has been arrested for a string of burglaries, and attempted burglaries at the district's schools.

Ventura County Sheriff's detectives were called to the Flory Academy of Sciences and Technology in Moorpark Tuesday by reports of a burglary.  Investigators say evidence found at the scene led them to Christopher Lewis, a former Moorpark Unified School District employee.

They talked to him, and say a search of his Simi Valley home led to the discovery of more evidence.  The 45 year old man was arrested on burglary, attempted burglary and vandalism charges.

Detectives say he may have been involved in several burglaries and attempted burglaries in the school district dating back to last October.
