Storm Brings 1-2" Of Rain To Much Of Central, South Coasts; Some Mountain Areas Top 5"

An unseasonably strong storm system has brought one to two inches of rain to much of the Central and South Coast, and more than five inches in some of our mountains. In Ventura County, Ventura has had just under an inch of rain. Santa Paula had 1.3”, Thousand Oaks 1.4”, and Ojai 1.5”. In Santa Barbara County, Santa Barbara received 1.6” of rain, Solvang 2.2”, and Santa Maria 1.1”.

But, some foothill and mountain areas have had spectacular amounts of rain. San Marcos received 5.6” of rain. Rose Valley, in Ventura County’s mountains, recorded 6.1”.

While the storm is bringing much needed rain, the good news is that no serious debris flow or flooding issues have been reported in the region’s brush fire burn zones. We could see on and off rain through Thursday.
